Digital story telling was one of our first cultural intervention. The theme was “Open Doors”.
The women took pictures of doors that had a meaning in their life, such as the door of their church, the door of their current employer, the door of their home etc. Each door represented good or bad memories they had to share. EDITC assisted the women with the compilation of the photos and the creation of the digital stories.
This was a successful activity because women brought to the community their experiences from their “new” lives in their new country. Listening to the stories of other women was empowering as they could share emotions and lessons learnt.
