KIST Consult has been actively spreading awareness about the InCommon project with a view to building an InCommon Volunteers’ Network and involving them in the project. The strategy was to reach out to volunteers, who are motivated to support the migrant women in their integration into the host community and the exercise of active citizenship.
Apart from several informal conversations and meetings, two Training Workshops on Interculturality for Volunteers’ were organised to strengthen our Volunteers’ Network by building the intercultural competence of the Volunteers. As a results approximately 50 volunteers have received a personal information till now and atleast 20 volunteers attended the training workshop. After the workshop, the volunteers were informed about, among other things, the training and the activities that will be held. We expect most of these volunteers to continue in the next phase of the project and to play an important role in motivating the migrant women to participate in the training course for the profiled European key competences.
The feedback from the Volunteers has been very positive, and they highly value their role in the project, especially the idea of working with migrant women to share their own culture and to know one another.
