This training course on interculturality for volunteers provides basic knowledge about essential notions for the creation of an inclusive intercultural environment. The final goal is that participants achieve a self-knowledge about their position toward multicultural contexts, being able to find strategies that help them overcome barriers, like prejudices or general assumptions, about migrant people, and be able to establish social bonds with others.
Participants on the course will be trained in cross-cultural skills such as knowledge of cultural dynamics, competences on intercultural communication, establishment of bonds and networking, as well as fostering attitudes of cultural relativism, curiosity and an approach to the “other” form the intercultural perspective.
The total duration of the workshop is 10 hours divided in three main modules that are structured as follows:
- Introduction of the module in which the trainer will expose the main concepts related to the topic.
- Activities based on dynamic learning and tools that allow participants to actively reflect on the concepts that have been raised and exchange perspectives that enrich their particular vision.
- Jointly evaluation of the session by the group.Resources for the trainers and further development of the trainee.
