Music is a social phenomenon inherent to humanity, it is a universal language that every human being understands beyond the native language used. The songs and melodies that we carry in our cultural baggage involve certain ideas, meanings and values that intimately relate the sounds to the community that produces them.
The contest aims to promote women’s self-expression through songs. Singing offers different possibilities from the expression of identity, the creation of lyrics and music, the interpretation of songs that belong to the culture itself and are close to the feelings, and the mixing or appropriation of different traits of the culture in an innovative way.
It is a contest open to women individually or groups not formed exclusively by migrant women. What is sought is free expression through music with an open theme in which intercultural expression should prevail.
