KIST Consult and Gain & Sustain have been actively spreading awareness about the InCommon project with a view to organize a local events for the migrant women and involve them in the project.
The key principle was to identify and reach out to women who had a motivation for their integration into the host community and the exercise of active citizenship. The strategy to reach out to the target group of the migrant women from the third countries was diverse and included distribution of project brochures, one-on-one conversations, emails, dialogues with different associations and migrant communities..
Apart from several informal conversations and meetings, two specific local events were organised to inform the women about the InCommon project, and, as a results approximately 50 women have received a personal information till now. We expect most of these women to continue in the next phase of the project and to be trained in different key competences.
At the local events the women were informed about, among other things, the objectives of the project, the partners, the stages, the training and the activities that will be held. The feedback from the women has been very positive, and they highly value what the project offers, especially the idea of working in groups to create a space to share and get to know one another.
