DOCUMENTA participates in a new European Project: PR-ERF Kick-off
The design and facilitation of individual, tailored-made learning paths in order to acquire key competences in ERF, is still needed to cope with a changing labour market, and a challenging issue for VET and adult education sectors at European level, excessively oriented to training in knowledge and technical skills.
The city of Nicosia (Cyprus) Leonardo called Practical Methodology hosted on 9 and 10 January 2014 the kick-off project meeting for Practical Methodology for Acquiring Key Competences of European Reference Framework through Continuous Vocational Education and Training (PR-ERF), which has begun its journey this month. This initiative aims to develop a comprehensive method of validation and development of key competences of the European Reference Framework for Continuous Vocational Training, adapted to levels 4 and 5 of the European Qualification Framework (EQF), to cover the existing deficit of programs of qualification skills and key competences in continuous training.
This methodology consists of a set of knowledge, skills and attitudes that all citizens must acquire through lifelong learning for their personal fulfilment, greater employability and social inclusion; although it is primarily oriented to people with a medium level of training and even advanced who want to improve their employment opportunities.
Folkuniversitetet Uppsala (Sweden) promotes and coordinates this project, which actually counts with participation of DOCUMENTA and several training organizations from countries such as Greece (DIMITRA), Netherlands (Revalento), and Cyprus (Mediterranean Management Centre). At the meeting, partners have laid the foundations for the work to be developed by the partners, focused on the adaptation of skills to the curriculum framework of programs of continuing education in each country, and design a posteriori of the teaching materials and a tool for self-assessment of competencies, which will be tested with end users (teachers and students in continuing education programs).
Practical Methodology for Acquiring Key Competences of European Reference Framework through Continuous Vocational Education and Training (PR-ERF) is a Transfer of Innovation Project under Leonardo Da Vinci initiative funded with support from European Commission.
