The Second meeting of the SEE-ME project (Methodology for Early Warning detection of risk for Early School Leaving) will take place in Holland in July 2015

IMG-20150520-WA0000More than 13% of young people (18-24) in Europe are early school leavers, and they are at heightened risk of poor participation in the labour market and social exclusion over their entire life course. Such critical risk situation involves not only an immense waste of the individual potential of young people, but also has serious social and economic consequences for the EU countries.

Since February 2015, DOCUMENTA is taking part on the Erasmus + project “Methodology for Early Warning detection of risk for Early School Leaving (ESL), which is aims to elaborate an early warning mechanism (methodological handbook with training materials), that enables schools to detect pupils at risk at as early stage as possible, and take proper actions to prevent ESL. The handbook, combined with European and international best practises, will enable schools to develop concrete ESL-related strategies and actions.

After the kick-off meeting carried out in Deventer (Holland) which served the partners to meet and discuss on the proposed methodology and the first project activities, such as those including in the first work package -developing an interview questionnaire to carry out a cross-sectional study of schools in each of the partner countries in order to find out different data on early school leaving-, a second meeting will take place in the same city on 6th and 7th July 2015.

In this second meeting, partner will work on a practical session to design the questionnaire and organize the next project activities, such as the development of a Methodological handbook and related training materials for school staff in ESL initiatives and training materials. In addition, SEE-MEE plans to deliverseminars for school staff and other stakeholders in the partner countries to provide information findings from the report practices and policies of ESL in schools.

DOCUMENTA is working in this project with other European organizations and training centres, such as USRV Ufficio Scolastico Regionale per il Veneto (Italy), Revalento and Stichting Saxion (Holland), IES Hermanos Machado (Spain) and Semper Avanti  Wrocław (Poland). The project is coordinated by Folkuniversitetet Uppsala (Sweden).
