Documenta successfully tests the educational program for older workers of the Be Old project
Last Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 31st of January, Documenta carried out the test of the educational program for workers +55 years that has been created between the different partners that collaborate in the European project Be Old. This test took place in Santander, in the office of AMICA, which has modern facilities and it is adapted to people with disabilities.
This educational program focuses on the use of a methodology that relies on workers of advanced age to improve their employability and develop new career paths for their retirement. The contents of the educational program are structured in 5 workshops and turns around a series of issues of interest to this group as a set of new professional goals during old age, facing the transition of age in a positive way, Personal Development and the improvement of self-esteem and adaptation to the labor market and intergenerational learning. Finally, there is a section for the evaluation of the contents.
Participants, got in two sessions a series of materials prepared and tested in advance by the different partners involved in the project. This educational program is divided into 5 large workshops, each of those consists of a theoretical part and a practical part.
During the first session they worked on the first 2 workshops and began with the third, while in the second edition workshop 3 was finalized, 4 was taught and finally, as part of the contents of workshop 5, the participants assessed the contents and the training they had received.
The project started recently in 2017 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. Its main objective is to improve the social inclusion of workers in old age through the use of innovative training tools
