During the last several months, EAPN Cantabria and Documenta have been carrying out the dissemination of the InCommon project and the organization of local events targeted to migrant women to involve them in the project.
During this phase, EAPN Cantabria’s member organisations have contacted many migrant women from different nationalities and backgrounds, but with one common interest: their integration into the host community and the exercise of active citizenship.
Through informative brochures, emails, interviews with different associations and groups of migrants… we reached a large number of women, and currently dissemination is still going on to engage more participants.
Two events, as well as several informative meetings and individual sessions have been held at Documenta premises to inform the women about the InCommon project, and, as a results more than 40 women have received a personal assistance till now. Many of these women will continue in the next phase of the project and will be trained in different key competences.
At the local events the women were informed about, among other things, the objectives of the project, the partners, the stages, the training and the activities that will be held. The feedback from the women has been very positive, and they highly value what the project offers, especially the idea of working in groups to create a space to share and get to know one another. The acceptance of the InCommon project creates positive expectations for a project that seeks the integration of women in the host community through culture.
