Unemployment among young adults (18- 30) is one of the main socioeconomic challenges in the EU. Youth people who have only completed secondary education are most likely to become unemployed. The figures in Spain show an alarming unemployment rate close to 49% among young people.
Some of the problems related to unemployment are a separation between educational institutions and enterprises and a lack of cooperation/coordination among different entities that work in the fields of training, guidance and counselling in order to help young people to find a job.
DOCUMENTA, Instituto Europeo de Estudios para la Formación y el Desarrollo is currently working on an Erasmus+ project funded by the EU. The main aim of IGMA 3 is to improve the occupational insertion processes for young people (18- 30) who are at risk of social exclusion.
The project seeks to make an assessment about the current situation of available services for job placement among young people in Cantabria as well as to gather all the concerns of the professionals who work in the fields of guidance and job counselling in order to determine the needs and the most appropriate training for the professional development of practitioners. It also targets a diverse group from different organizations and technical fields to establish both a useful and enriching dialogue.
DOCUMENTA has organized a workshop targeted at the institutions that deal with these issues with the purpose of make the project known and involve organisations and professionals in it.
