They concluded that everyone liked cooking or, at least eating, and the importance of food in community celebrations. Thus, the aim was to know the oldest food market in the city, Mercado de la Esperanza de Santander, and the food products, very different from their original country.
The visit served to exchange celebrations and food preparations in every country. Through food the women learned about the history of the city and shared their own cultural celebrations, different ingredients and culinary topics. They also made a comparison with their respective countries and products and solved doubts about food, products purchase and designations of origin, among others.
The visit was organised in collaboration with the Market Merchant Associations of La Esperanza Market, the oldest food market of the city.
